BANGKOK (Vietnam Information/ANN): Thai authorities have arrested eight suspects and confiscated greater than 10,000 e-cigarette and vaping units in a raid at Quantity One market close to Ramkhamhaeng College (Bangna Campus) in Bangkok.
The marketing campaign, dubbed “Vape Operation”, is a collaboration between the Workplace of the Client Safety Board (OCPB) and the Royal Thai Police to crack down on sellers of e-cigarette and vaping units close to colleges and schools within the capital, stated Puangpetch Chunla-ead, Minister connected to the Prime Minister’s Workplace, who led the operation, lately.
The market, which is surrounded by scholar dorms, is well-known for e-cigarette and vaping units, prompting the OCPB to launch the marketing campaign to cease the promoting of unlawful objects to college students and underaged individuals.
Investigators discovered e-cigarette and vaping units being offered at 14 stalls available in the market and arrested eight sellers, in addition to confiscated almost 6,000 vaping objects present in these retailers.
In addition they tracked down the distribution community of those sellers to a manufacturing unit in Din Daeng district and seized some 4,000 objects. The overall worth of the confiscated objects is estimated at over 3 million THB (about 84,000 USD).
Puangpetch underlined the specter of e-cigarettes on Thai adolescents as these units could be simply bought from retailers close to colleges and schools, whereas some college students even purchase them in bulk to resale to their pals.

Thailand banned imports of e-cigarettes and vaping units, together with baraku and digital baraku smoking units in 2014.
